Benefits Of Being A Benjamin
We know the burst of joy we get from sharing random acts of kindness, but when we’re busy it’s easy to miss opportunities. When you join The Benjamin Society, we’ll share practical tips and simple ideas for your monthly $100 giving.
The giving initiative born over lunch
The idea for The Benjamin Society sprouted when Whitney Long was out at lunch with a couple of friends.
It was during the covid pandemic when restaurants were struggling to stay open, and thousands of service workers had lost their jobs. When the bill came, Whitney and her friends felt moved to each leave a $100 tip. So they followed their hearts and did!
We don’t know what difference those $100 tips made for their waiter that day – but Whitney instantly felt a wave of joy. Because it’s true: it’s more blessed to give than to receive.
From then on, Whitney started doing this more and more whenever her heart hinted it was the right thing to do. And from that, the idea for The Benjamin Society was born because what better way to spread the joy of giving than by making it intentional with a larger community?!
